What Knowto handles
Knowto is a local-first notes app. If you use Knowto without signing in, your notes, tags, and attachments stay on your device. If you sign in, Knowto handles the account information needed to provide your account and sync your content, including your email address and user ID.
How we use information
We use account information and synced content to operate Knowto, authenticate you, sync your notes between devices, store attachments you choose to sync, and protect the service. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
Website analytics
We use a self-hosted instance of Umami to understand aggregate website usage, such as pages viewed, referrers, browser and device type, and approximate country. Umami does not use cookies or collect the contents of your notes. We use this information to improve Knowto.
Storage and deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the app. Signed-in data is retained as needed to provide the service. You can manage your notes and attachments in Knowto. Signing out stops syncing on that device but does not by itself delete your synced data. To delete your account and associated synced data from Account settings in the iOS app, or contact us at the address below if you need help.
Service providers
We use infrastructure and authentication providers to host data, process App Store subscriptions, and deliver sign-in. They process information only as needed to provide those services for Knowto.
Your choices
You can use Knowto without signing in, choose what content to add, delete notes and attachments in the app, or stop sync by signing out. You may also ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Knowto changes. The updated version will be posted on this page. Questions can be sent to knowto@lumik.space.
